Veteran Chimney Sweeps Establish New SW Michigan Enterprise

As the furnace clicks on in more and more homes across Michigan’s Great Southwest, and folks fire up the fireplace, Mike and Ryan Laylin have emerged onto the scene with their new Bros. Chimney Sweep & Masonry, LLC, a new firm with seasoned pros at the helm.

Between the two of them, Mike and his twin brother Ryan have 17-years of combined service and experience in the chimney sweep business across the region.

The two started the business last month, and Mike has been a nationally certified chimney sweep for more than three years now, as certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America.

The job of the chimney sweep is to remove soot, blockages and built-up creosote from your chimney liner, firebox, smoke chamber and damper. Cleaning your system allows not only for safer operations during the heating season, it helps eliminate the dangerous build up of creosote which can reduce the efficiency of the chimney and the draw of the fireplace.

Cleaning the chimney can help prevent carbon monoxide poisoning, increase the efficiency of your heating system, make for easier future inspections, avoid fires in the chimney, and keep smoke flowing in the proper direction.

Bros. Chimney Sweep & Masonry, is always ready to address with clients the science of how their heating units and fireplaces work, and how they should be operated in order to be as efficient as possible and assist with fire code inspections.

The brothers say they offer competitive pricing and expertise, and offer discounts to veterans, senior and public service professionals. They can also perform chimney inspections for real estate transactions in the region of Southwest Michigan and Northwest Indiana.

You can reach them at 269-414-8370 and 269-414-8371 by phone or text to arrange for an appointment for scheduled service at your home or business.
