Shirley Ann Brown

Shirley Ann Brown, 69, from Lawrence, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 24, 2020. She resided for many years in St. Joe but spent her final months in the loving home of her daughter Stacey in Lawrence, where Shirley was previously a longtime resident.

Shirley was born December 14, 1950 in Paw Paw, MI to Donald Brown and Grace (Hayhurst) Areaux. In addition to raising her children she also worked hard outside of the home to support herself and her children. Shirley was manager at Lawson’s in Lawrence for many years and also worked a couple other jobs in Lawrence as well. Shirley made many friends and acquaintances during her working years in Lawrence and she was very giving to those she befriended. Shirley really enjoyed the Christmas holiday and loved to spoil her children in their younger years. Shirley enjoyed crosswords, puzzles, being outdoors, a good wise crack and most of all the company of her family, especially visits from her grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Teddy.

Shirley will be missed by her children; Kevin Klimach, Stacey McDannel, Kelly (Josh) Slavens, her grandchildren; Taylor, Cayla and Makenzie Klimach, Charlie and Caitlyn White; her sisters; Sandra (William) Danger, Donna (Lynford) Areaux; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other extended family and many friends along way. Shirley is preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Benwire and her parents.

Per Shirley’s wishes, cremation services have taken place. The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date to be determined.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel, St. Joseph.
