Rita Ann Delaney

Rita Ann Delaney, 65, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, September 11, 2020.

Rita was born on June 13th, 1955 in Berrien General Hospital in Berrien Springs, MI to Frank and Virgie (Stewart) Delaney).

Rita had a very bright and energetic personality. Besides spending time with her family and friends, Rita loved writing poetry, listening to her gospel music, reading her bible, and riding her bike. She attended Benton Harbor public schools and was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Brown.  She will be greatly missed.

Rita is survived by her beloved children; daughter Stepfanie (Timothy) Conner, son Kenneth (Lakesha) Delaney, Sr.; four grandchildren, Dominick Delaney, Tatyana Conner, Kenneth Delaney, Jr, and Keylon Delaney, five sisters; Margaret (Herman) Thompson of Arizona, Dorothy Thompson of Grand Rapids, MI, Mildred Corhn of Kalamazoo, MI, Barbara Whitfield of Benton Harbor, MI and Elizabeth Delaney of Benton Harbor, MI; one brother, Elgie Delaney of Chicago, ILL; special friends, Rodger Miller, Jenny Gilbert, Kim Huston, Carolyn Caughn and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son Andrew Christopher Delaney; her parents Frank V. and Virgie E. Delaney; sisters Lima Delaney and Virsie M. Shepherd; brothers Frank Delaney, Jr., Raymond Delaney, James Delaney, and Verdean Delaney; nephews Gregory Shepherd, Raymond Jones, and Camilius Thompson, Jr.; nieces Mary L. Shepherd and Stephanie (Davis) Delaney.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Robbins Brothers Funeral Home, Benton Harbor.
