Reverend Robert A. Leidy, 80, passed away at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo, Michigan on Saturday, August 28, 2020. He was born December 1, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan to Earl and Edna Mae (Peirce) Leidy.
Robert married Nadyne E. Stratton in Springfield, Missouri, on October 27, 1961. Together they shared 58 years of marriage. Robert earned his bachelor’s degree from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. Robert pastored churches in Tioga, Pennsylvania; Augusta, Georgia: Halifax, Nova Scotia; Colimbia, Tennessee and South Haven. As well as being a pastor, he recently retired from working at Meijer in Benton Harbor. Robert loved to drive. He attended Rose Park Baptist Church in Holland.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Shirley Noreus and Dolores DiMaggio.
Robert is survived by his wife – Nadyne Leidy of South Haven, children – Mark Leidy of Holland, Stephen Leidy of South Haven and Deborah Leidy of Three Rivers. Also surviving are his five grandchildren – Tasha and Doug Sluder, Justin and Terra Koenig, Tobias and Jadalyn Koenig, Zach and Sara Koenig and Amber and Tristan LeMunyon. Four great grandchildren – Douglas Sluder, Avah Sluder, Braelynn LeMunyon and Alexis Koenig.
Private family services will be held at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven with Pastor Robert Pophal officiating. Robert will be laid to rest at Lake View Cemetery in South Haven.
