North Pier Brewing Gets City Commission Greenlight For Downtown Tasting Room in SJ

One of the few retail space vacancies on the open market in downtown St. Joseph won’t be vacant for long if the Michigan Liquor Control Commission follows the green light given to North Pier Brewing Company for plans to establish a new tasting room next to Third Coast Surf Shop in the central business district.

North Pier owner Jay Fettig sought approval tonight from the St. Joseph City Commission for approval of an off premises license to establish a new tasting room at 210 State Street downtown. The Michigan Liquor Control Commission (MLCC) requires all such applications to go before the City Commission requesting that they in turn make a recommendation as to whether the MLCC should approve the application.

The tasting room would be built out at 210 State Street in the former Schaller Gallery which moved earlier this year to downtown Baroda.

The St. Joe City Commission voted tonight to recommend the application of North Pier Brewing Company, LLC, for the off premises tasting room be considered for approval by the Michigan Liquor Control Commission.
