Marie Zelvis

Marie Zelvis, 91, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Monday, October 26, 2020 at the West Woods of Bridgman.

A Mass of Christin Burial will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 30, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 220 Church St., St. Joseph with Fr. Arul Lazar officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery in Stevensville. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or the Alzheimer’s Association. Marie was born June 12, 1929 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI to Noah & Nelda (Tremblay) Vachon. She graduated from St. John’s Catholic High School in Benton Harbor. On October 18, 1952 she married Algerd Zelvis in Benton Harbor. Marie worked as a Sales Clerk for Sears for 28 Years. She was a volunteer for the Catholic Church and was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping with her family and was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan. 

Marie is survived by her sons Ron Zelvis and Jim Zelvis; daughter-in-law Michele Zelvis; grandchildren Noah (Cathy) Zelvis, Ashley Zelvis, Jarrod (Angie) Zelvis, John Zelvis, Kevin (Aggie) Zelvis, Dr. Jennifer (Brian) Wilson and Michael (Sheyla) Keith; two great grandchildren Ethan and Mia; and many nieces and nephews. 

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, sister and son Richard Zelvis.
