Latisha Williams

“In life, we have pressures with our loved ones, we have sorrows and joy, but thank God for the memories that death cannot destroy.”

The precious life of Latisha Jeanne Williams was born into time on February 11, 1976, in Benton Harbor, Michigan to the late Marlene Williams and David Whitelow Sr.

Latisha accepted Christ as her personal Savior, at Holy Temple Church of God In Christ, at an early age.  She was active in the church throughout her childhood and young adult life under the leadership of Pastor Rudolph Thomas.

Latisha matriculated through the Benton Harbor Area School System and graduated as a proud Tiger of Benton Harbor High School Class of 1994.  She continued her education at Lake Michigan College and entered her teaching career with Benton Harbor Area Schools.  In 2010, Latisha received her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from Western Michigan University.  She was a strong advocate for educating children.   Throughout her career, she educated children attending Benton Harbor Area Schools, Benton Harbor Charter School, Telamon Sodus Migrant Head Start, and Mildred C. Wells Academy. In March 2017, Latisha was indicted into The Leona Group-Teacher Hall of Fame.  Latisha enjoyed being an exceptional school teacher, always applying extreme detail and organization in every aspect of her journey.

Latisha knew that Christianity did not exempt one from death, but ensured triumph over death.  Latisha stood strong as the glue of her family until she pulled off mortality and put on immortality on September 19, 2020, at Spectrum Health Lakeland in St. Joseph, MI

Precious memories of her life will forever live in the heart of her sisters, LaShonda Williams and Patricia Williams; and her brother, David Whitelow Jr. Latisha never had children of her own but the joy of her heart was, nine nieces and nephews, Stephanie, Wy-Neece, Talia, Jerail, Cutis, Shamiya, Jerry, Mia, and Jeremiah; two special cousins, Maurianna and Myesha; God-sisters, Ebony Hines and Eunisha Jones; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, her school family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Robbins Brothers Funeral Home, Benton Harbor.
