Harbor Habitat To Celebrate 25 Years

Harbor Habitat for Humanity is preparing to celebrate 25 years of homebuilding in the Benton Harbor area. The organization says it’s planning a virtual celebration day filled with a walk, awards, trivia, and prizes. The October 10 event will be used to mark Harbor Habitat’s 25 years of work in the community and to recognize key supporters, including the Cook nuclear power plant and the Benton Harbor Lowe’s Home store, both of which have helped Harbor Habitat build 116 homes in Benton Harbor and Benton Township. Harbor Habitat notes the pandemic has caused the cost of building materials to go up, prompting it to expand its service area to neighboring communities, making its message all the more important to get out. You can find out about the group or register to take part in its anniversary celebration at HarborHabitat.org.
