Erich Schlender

Erich Schlender, 78 of St. Joseph, MI passed away Oct. 9, 2020.

Erich was born to the late Theodor and Ottilie Schlender on Oct. 25, 1941 in Jamnow, Germany.

On May 1, 1976 he married Ruth Jane Conklin in Baroda, MI. Together they had two daughters, from a previous marriage; he also had two sons and two daughters.

In 2004, he retired from Premier Tool and Die Tender for 28 years. Earlier in his life, he also helped with the construction of a portion of the Cook Nuclear Plant.

He enjoyed fishing, going to the mountains, NASCAR, and the Casino, among with piddling outside with his flowers, and watching his grandson, Micheal, grow up to be the man he is today.

Survivors include his wife, Jane; son, Rodney; daughters, Tamera, Melinda, Nichole, April; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by infant daughter, Annette; son, Erick; son in law, Rick; brothers, Adolph, Arthur, Waldemar; sisters, Elsa and Sophie.

Cremation has taken place. There will not be and service or memorial per his request. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. Online condolences may be made at www.hovenfunerals.com.
