Darlene E. Pullen,

Darlene E. Pullen, 85, of Benton Harbor, passed away, Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at The Timbers of Cass County in Dowagiac.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held in the Spring when the Sun is shining, the Birds are singing and the Flowers are blooming.  Memorial donations in Darlene’s name may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan or the Alzheimer’s Association.  Those wishing to sign Darlene’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.

Darlene was born November 15, 1934 in Baroda to August & Edith (Binger) Selent.  She graduated from St. Joseph High School, Class of 1952.  On October 3, 1953, she married Clare E. “Bud” Pullen in Benton Harbor.  Darlene was employed for many years by Dr. Griswald Ruth in Benton Harbor.  After Dr. Ruth retired, she was employed as a banquet waitress at Benton Harbor Holiday Inn and retired from Ramada Inn.  Darlene enjoyed flowers, gardening & landscaping.  Her home and yard were a showplace.

Darlene is survived by her daughter Debbie (Doug) Miller of Benton Harbor; her sister Lorraine Shafer of St. Joseph; numerous nieces & nephews; and her canine companion Tinker.  She was preceded in death by her husband Clare “Bud” in 1981, siblings & in-laws Walter (Betty) Lausman, LaVern (Martha) Selent, Donald Shafer & Elaine (Robert) Kohler.
