Benton Harbor Department Of Public Safety Receives Two Grants

The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety is the recipient of some grants to help in the areas of fire prevention and education. It says the first grant is $2,000 from FM Global for the fire marshal to buy an iPad. That will help with fire investigations and inspections as the marshal can use it to take pictures and notes. The rest of the grant was used to buy fire prevention material to be distributed at schools and community events. The second grant is $2,000 from Michigan Gas Utilities. That money will be used to buy two high rise tool kits. Benton Harbor has several buildings that are considered high rises, and the public safety department says the kits will help it to be more efficient in the application of water when dealing with fires. The department says it feels “very fortunate to be the recipients of these grants.”
