The ACLU of Michigan is holding an online event Tuesday for Berrien County. Rodd Monts heads up the People Power Tour and began holding them in December in Saginaw, Sterling Heights, Jackson, and other areas they want better connection with. He has been in touch with leaders in Berrien County ahead of the webinar, getting input on the top issues. We asked him how they choose the focus for the event.
“It’s difficult,” says Monts. “So we we highlight one or more issues in this case it’ll be two broad issues and then we spend about a half an hour in small group discussions.”
He says a main goal is identifying new ways to build relationships with residents and have those focused on civil liberties and civil rights issues. The webinar will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and registration is needed. That can be done at aclumich.org/events.
The ACLU is partnering with the SHARP Foundation and We The People for the event.
